Description

NOTE: PLEASE CHOOSE YOUR DATE WHEN PURCHASING THE TICKET! It's in a pull-down box at the top of the order page. $40 is per date, at 9 am on that date. The same event will be happening each day, so please only purchase a ticket for one (1) day. Each date only has eight (8) spaces, so much sure you register early for your preferred date.

PGSA events is bringing you another absurd discount, offering postgraduate students training that usually costs $99 per person. So we're offering you this opportunity for less than half of the cost of what it would cost you if you tried to do this on your own!

We're going to be running the event through the week, groups of eight people in each one. Each event will have an upgrade option for those individuals who want a bit more practical experience. We've been working with the instructors to get the best possible deal for everyone.

What is kitesurfing and what will we be doing?

Each day (please only purchase a ticket for one day, as the same event is happening on each day) the instructors will get together with the PGSA group of 8. Then, for just $40 you'll get a two hour instruction section. With such small groups, this is ample time for one-on-one time with the instructors.

Having too much fun to get out of the water? For those in the group that want to stay in the water, you can upgrade after the event for just $30 for an extended session and advanced lessons. Still not enough? You can talk with the instructors about completing the futher IKO certs at your own cost and timing.

Requirement: Ability to swim is strongly recommended.

Who will be teaching you?

Blue Adventure a Premier School for Kitesurf Lessons. Kitesurfing is easily learnt by anyone of any age (10-80 yrs) and they have a team of passionate and experienced instructors who are ready to get you started. Blue Adventure is IKO certified and has great teachers.

Where do we meet?

This is weather dependent, mostly upon wind direction. You will need to provide your own transport to the location. If you need help with directions please get in contact with us, we'll be able to help out with Bus routes and other methods. (for both locations, bus 049’s route should get you near to where you want to go, but please get directions prior to departure if you’re unsure of where to go)

Current locations are (we will e-mail you the day before the event with the event location for that day. This is because we will choose the best place with the best wind, given the day's weather conditions!):

Liability:

While PGSA strives to ensure a safe environment, PGSA takes no responsibility for the safety of members once they have entered the supervision of the instructors, as it is their responsibility to ensure your safety. We have chosen this company due to its incredibly good safety record, and so we trust them with individual's safety. The choice to enter the water on the day of the event (and accept those risks inherent in that choice) lies solely on the individual.

I understand that travel to and from, and the water activities themselves have a certain set of risks as any sporting event might have and will be prepared appropriately for the terrain and temperature and follow all safety instructions. Staff and management will take all practical steps to identify and minimise potential dangers. However, you must follow our instructions at all times. Adults accompanying any person under the age of 18 must ensure that the underage person follows our instructions also. We reserve the right to withdraw any person who in our opinion is likely to endanger themselves or others (without refund!). We also reserve the right to not take passengers on this trip or any part of the trip if we consider there is a risk to either lives or vessel. If at any time you require assistance, please do not hesitate to approach one of our staff members. Please notify staff of any medical conditions which might affect you during this trip. By checking the box on the event form, you indemnify the PGSA and our staff against any liability we may incur, resulting from your failure to follow our instructions.

Warning: Under New Zealand law it is extremely unlikely that you will be able to sue anyone if you are injured. In addition, New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme provides only limited assistance to visitors to New Zealand who are injured. We strongly recommend that all visitors to New Zealand have full insurance covering any injury they might suffer, including medical treatment cover, before undertaking this activity.

Exclusions: From time to time events may occur which lead to delays or damage to passenger property. While we endeavour to prevent such an occurrence, there may be times when your shoes will get wet (in other words, your property will get muddy and dirty, and might be damaged in physical activity...which isn't our liability to keep clean and in proper shape). To the extent permitted by law, all our liability for damage to your property, disruption to travel plans, or mental injury is excluded. This exclusion is subject to any rights or remedies you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
