About this Event

KLP

KLP, real name Kristy Lee Peters, is a talented force of the Australian music industry, with credentials that cement her reputation as a multi-faceted industry heavyweight.

Between writing and recording her own music, co-writing for other musicians and collaborating with local and international artists, KLP also found time to host the country’s biggest Dance Music radio program, triple j’s House Party every Saturday night for 5 years – getting to know the Australian audiences and party with Australia once a week. Kristy recently left the number one youth broadcaster to focus on her own releases including an album in 2019.

KLP is regularly called upon to collaborate with some of the biggest, most influential local and international names in the music industry. This has included songwriting collaborations and vocal features including recently on the viral hit ‘GOH’ her collaboration with Skrillex and What So Not, she has also worked with Slumberjack, Snails, Goldfields, Zimmer, The Presets, Set Mo, Thandi Phoenix, Nicole Millar and more.

Outside of highly successful collaborations, KLP’s own music has garnered millions of plays online with tracks like ‘Ember’ and ‘Recover’ {ft. Remi} and more recently releasing singles ‘Carried Away’ {ft. Milwaukee Banks} and ‘Venus x Mars’ independently through her own label. She also recently mixed the Ministry Of Sound Session revamp in 2018, which was a huge success and landed at #1 in the dance album charts on iTunes.

Titled by InTheMix as ‘one of the electronic musicians running Australia’s new golden age of music’, Kristy is regularly called upon to play and perform at high profile events and festivals such as Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Party in the Paddock, Field Day, Southbound and The Hills are Alive.

While writing, recording and performing are at the heart and soul of the KLP story, Kristy has worked closely with brands such as YSL Beauty, H&M, Mumm, Nike, Melbourne Cup, Adelaide Cup and the Commonwealth Games, in both a hosting and performing capacity. It is her healthy lifestyle and positive approach to well-being that really positions KLP as a strong voice within the music industry.

As an APRA AMCOS Ambassador and mentor, KLP finds huge reward in mentoring and working with young singers and songwriters looking to break into the industry. Working with the APRA AMCOS program SongMakers Kristy has travelled Australia working with communities throughout. Kristy is a tastemaker and often called upon to appear on and host high profile panels.

KLP’s recently launched ‘Ricochet’ initiative hosted 2 highly successful events Ricochet BALL (a netball game with 12 teams coming together to raise over $24k for charities) and Ricochet SONGS which saw 16 artists such as Montaigne, Alex The Astronaut, Thandi Phoenix, Ninajirachi, Kota Banks and more come together with a focus on strengthening the outer corners of the creative process. Ricochet focuses on creativity, mental & physical health, fashion and everything in between, helping to build relationships and ultimately inspire the creative community in Australia.

In 2018 KLP signed with internationally acclaimed music publishing company, BMG, as a songwriter. However, it doesn’t stop there, with 2019 looking to be a huge one - multiple national tours to stellar releases and high-profile collaborations – KLP is at the forefront of a very exciting time in Australian and international music.

Chase Zera [Aus]

Chase Zera has been spreading her talents across the performing arts scene since the age of six. She grew up excelling in every dance genre from commercial jazz to hip-hop and cabaret. She then began singing and writing her own original material at the age of thirteen as well as learning the piano to refine her craft.

Chase Zera was accepted into the Australian Institute of Music and studied Composition and Audio Engineering as well as attending Ableton Live School where she learned the basics of music production. This helped spark her passion for pop and electronic music and allowed her to experiment and find her signature brooding, pop-house sound.

She has also collaborated in writing and production with various artists such as Xavier Dunn, Stu Turner from Set Mo, Commandeur, Bajillionaire & GANZ.

Chase Zera's sound can be described as upbeat and electrifying, with the addition of her airy vocals, consistent with a distinct vibrato. Her live shows are packed with high energy as Chase showcases powerful, bold choreography alongside her dancers.

‘Clovers’, the debut single by Chase Zera was premiered by Purple Sneakers on 1st March 2019. ‘Clovers’ made its mark on Spotify’s prestigious ‘New Music Fridays’, ‘House Party’, ‘Office Stereo’ and ‘Pop Edge’ playlists. The single was also played on Declan Byrne’s ‘Home and Hosed’ on Triple J and added to the Triple J Unearthed weekly podcast, charting on Triple J Unearthed in its first week of upload.

“It’s a pop anthem that works hard to showcase her songwriting abilities, vocal prowess and production skill. The complexities of the lyrical content are reflected very aptly in the hard-hitting production, and the slick sheen of this one comes through with years of experience.” – Purple Sneakers.
