Wellington, Friday 8 November 2019

All workshops hosted at Kumutoto, PWC Centre, 10 Waterloo Quay, Wellington

Wunda-ful Chair, 9am-12pm
The Wunda Chair, the first piece of home gym equipment. It challenges your connections more than most of Pilates equipment. Discover how to use it to reveal your strengths, weaknesses, challenge what you know and strengthen you for your Mat and Reformer. Also, as part of this workshop we will cover how to do some Mat based exercises on the chair for added challenge and creative fun. Suitable for Pilates teachers and students.

First Time to Life Time, 1pm-3pm
Converting first-time clients and retaining them for life! That first session is key ... what questions do you ask, what should you say, how on earth do you sell Pilates? And, how do you get clients to be so consistent that they feel the benefits of Pilates and never leave? All this and more in this two-hour workshop. Suitable for Pilates teachers.

Prop Out and Prop Up!, 3pm-6pm
This three-hour workshop will include a class and workshop on how to have fun with foam rollers, yoga bolsters, lightweights and more! Discover new ways to explore the original Mat exercises, challenge your balance, reveal your asymmetries and work on them. Props are not just fun to ‘change it up’, they challenge how we feel and connect to an exercise. And, for those who do not have access to other Pilates apparatus, a Prop can create the feeling and connection that you want your clients to discover. Suitable for Pilates teachers and students. Participants to bring their own foam rollers and light weights (0.5kg or 1.0kg).

Wellington, Saturday 9 November 2019

All workshops hosted at Kumutoto, PWC Centre, 10 Waterloo Quay, Wellington

Walls: No Props? No Problem!, 9am-12pm
Ever had more people than props? Or, no props at all and you want to mix it up? Looking at your class and all you see is disconnection? Take them to the wall! Unless you’re outside you’ve got walls and that means you can use them as a teaching tool and a challenge. In this workshop you’ll get a workout with the walls and then we will break down all the exercises and how the walls challenge, support and teach our Pilates lovers. The best part about it is you can practice on any wall anywhere you go! Suitable for Pilates teachers and students.

How to Raise Your Rates, 1pm-3pm
Raising your rates is empowering and scary. It’s absolutely necessary and equally anxiety-ridden. In fact, you are probably due for a rate increase but you’re putting it off. What if you lose your clients? And then there is always the worry that you’ll be more expensive than everyone else … and then what? Does that mean you won’t get any new clients? It’s enough to drive you mad, and potentially out of business because you need to be charging your worth and raising your rates. We will discuss how to raise your rates, how to alert your clients and allow you to feel secure in the process. I promise you can do this without losing your clients! Suitable for Pilates teachers.

Discovering Your Seat, 3pm-6pm
Learn how to use the seat in your Pilates practice without overusing it. As we know, the abs are not the centre. We have a whole powerhouse and it includes our peach! Learn ways to find it with props and how to see when it’s being used or turned off. You’ll also get the chance to be on a Reformer, teach on a Reformer and feel the seat connect! One-hour workout followed by a two-hour workshop. Suitable for Pilates teachers and students. Participants to bring their own magic circle.

Pilatini® Nights, 6pm-8pm
Socialise with other Pilates teachers and Lesley Logan at one of her trademark Pilatini® Nights. Lesley designed Pilatini® Nights so that Pilates teachers could have a night where they could meet other teachers, some they may have never had the opportunity to meet. To network. To share their lives, their goals, and even their struggles. When you come out to a Pilatini® Nights event you will see instructors enjoying their beverage of choice and maybe even some delicious food while gabbing away, laughing away, and listening in on more than just Pilates talk. This event is open to Pilates teachers who have registered for one of Lesley’s workshops, and is free to attend. Venue to be confirmed.

Auckland, Sunday 10 November 2019

All workshops hosted at Wellesley Studios, 113 Wellesley Street West, Auckland

Reform Your Mat, 9am-11am
The ‘Reformer on the Mat’ will be a two-hour Pilates workshop bringing all the exercises you know and love from the Reformer into your Mat practice. Throughout each exercise, we will be mentally connecting the two pieces of equipment. How does the original Reformer order on the Mat challenge you? What revelations can you find? And, what about those headstands? Suitable for Pilates teachers and students who have previously used a Reformer. Participants to bring their own mat and light weights (0.5kg or 1.0kg).

How to Become Known, 11am-1pm
Referrals are the best form of marketing and better yet, they cost you nothing. So, how do you become so known in your community that the referrals are endlessly streaming in? Find out in this two-hour workshop, great for teachers and studio owners.

Band-Aid, 2pm-5pm
Grab your Theraband and have some fun up-leveling exercises, finding connections, and more! You know those ‘clicks’ you hear complaints about? Find out how the Theraband can help them discover the connections they need to click no more. What about that back connection? Using the Theraband to bring some of the best of the Reformer and Cadillac to the Mat will make Pilates magic happen! Suitable for Pilates teachers and students. Participants to bring their own Theraband.
