Event description
Canterbury Pitmasters BBQ, NZBA, SCA, Kingsford Coal and Fernridge are proud to present - Let There Be Meat! In association with The Show.

About this Event

The Chch A&P Show is the 2nd biggest event in NZ. It sees 100,000 people come through over the 3 days, Wednesday 13th - Friday 16th November.

The BBQ Competition will be run on Thursday and Friday - 2 events with SCA and NZBA Formats.Get involved guys & gals, it will be a great weekend.

This event will not go to NZBA Series points this year.

Event Timetable

Day 1 - Wednesday 13th November 2019

● Bump in (set-up site) 6pm – 8pm (All vehicles must be offsite by 8pm)

Day 2 – Thursday 14th November 2019 - SCA Event

*Judges Course 9am on site at the Judges Marquee

● 6am Bump in (set-up site) Gates open at 6am, all teams must be set up by 8am (VEHICLES REMOVED BY 730am – Parking onsite in carpark)

● 8am Team Briefing & Hand in Box distribution

● 8.30am Site inspections for food safety & equipment

● 9am Cooking window opens

Hand In’s

● 10-10.30am – Bloody Mary’s

● 11-11.30pm – Chicken Wings

● 12-12.30pm – Anything on a stick

● 1-1.30pm - Steak

● 2-2.30pm – One Bite Challenge

● 4pm - Awards

Day 2 (PM) – Thursday 14th November 2019

Hand In’s

● 10am Chicken turn in (Any Cut)

● 11am Pork turn in (PORK 2 - Shoulder)

● 12pm Pork Ribs turn in (St Louis cut. A bone must be present in every rib)

● 1pm Beef turn in (BEEF 2 - Brisket, Beef cheek, Ribs or Chuck)

● 2pm Promoters Choice (Supplied)

● 4pm Winners announcements

● 6pm Bump out(cleanup) After 6pm, and Saturday Morning 16th November 8-12pm

  • Social Function for all team members and judges – Location and time TBA

Promoters Notes

• Pork Ribs, and Promoters Choice will be supplied to teams by the promoter.

• Comp site will be 90% grass - please bring appropriate weighting for marquees.

• Teams to bring their own cooking & safety equipment as per guidelines (supplied closer to event)

• Open to the public therefore full respect and conduct is to be adhered to.

• Anyone that is found to be intoxicated or disrespectful will be asked to remove themselves from the site immediately.

• Bump out is strictly as per the times indicated.

• Hand in boxes will be supplied

● Teams to bring their own extension cords, tents & lighting. Must be Test & Tagged.

● Site size approximately 6x4 metres per team
