Event description
The Postgraduate Conference 2021 is designed to celebrate the incredible contributions that our research students make to the University.

About this event

The event will be held from 12-4pm each day between Wednesday 1 November and Friday 3 November.

This is a chance for student researchers to present some of their work to their peers. It is a requirement for PhD students to present at a conference to complete their study. This is a crucial chance to practice presentation skills and build confidence.

The committee will work to include all submitted papers in the conference programme. Sessions may cover diverse topics including but not limited to economics, policy, agricultural science, sport science, landscape design, management, social science.

Submissions are possible in three categories:

Contributed Papers:  Contributed Papers will present theoretical developments in the field of research. Contributed Papers will be allocated in thematic session, each paper with a 20 min slot (10 min talk and 10 min discussion). Presentations by PhD students will be embedded in the main Conference programme and specific feedback will be provided for the presenters. The best PhD presenter will be awarded with a prize of $200.

Discussion Papers:  The intention of these sessions is to provide a platform for authors to present work that considers new ideas and approaches, addresses issues relating to the more formative stages of a research project or more generally provides the basis for wider discussion. Each Discussion Paper will be allocated with a 25 min slot (10 min talk and 15 min discussion). $150 for best discussion presentation will be awarded.

Posters:  Posters are welcome to present research results or research of earlier stage. A best poster prize of $100 will be awarded to a researcher. Accepted Contributed Papers (4000-8000 words) and Discussion Papers (4000-8000 words) and Posters will be made available to delegates before the conference. In addition, papers from the conference will be archived in a secure database with all attendees allowed access.

Abstracts will be required for all students who are presenting. Your abstract should be around 200 words and needs to be submitted by 1 October to Events@lincoln.ac.nz.
