In a city abundant with Malaysian restaurants it says a lot when after only a year Little Penang was voted "Best Malaysian" and "Best Asian" in the Capital Times "Best of Wellington Awards".
Learn the intricacies of the perfect Malaysian curry using all fresh ingredients and the perfect fluffy coconut rice. Also try your hand at making some delicious Malaysian desserts.
The class will be part demo but mostly hands on. Then after all your hard work we can sit down to a cup of tea, some curry and Malaysian desserts.
But most importantly it will be an intimate class with the wonderful Tee, whose hospitality always makes you feel like you are a guest in her own home. Find out interesting stories from her childhood and family (and see where Jimmy Choo fits in).

Eat & Greet is a food website bringing you the people behind your favourite plates in the Captial. Letting chefs tell their stories, finding out what influences them and getting a sneak-peek into their little foodie black book.
When & Where
The City Market is excited to partner with world pioneers of innovative kitchen technology, Gaggenau.
The City Market is home to a stunning Gaggenau kitchen in which we will be offering intimate cooking classes with Wellington’s best chefs and food personalities. Hosted by Eat & Greet's Beth Brash, classes will take place in the City Market where you will be surrounded by bustle, bounty, and aromas every second Sunday.
With classes like dumpling making with City Market's own House of Dumplings, Lebanese cooking with Phoenician Falafel, Knife skills and butchery; not one class will be the same.
Classes will be small, so book early. Guests will have the opportunity to listen, learn, ask questions, and most importantly, taste. After 90mins of more reality than you can shake a whisk at, we’ll send you on your way with your belly full and a recipe card so that you can recreate it all again at home. You will be well satiated and bursting with ideas.
Eat and Greet presents Gaggenau at the City Market – the perfect way to spend a Sunday morning!
