Event description
Love and Labour is a night celebrating entrepreneurial NZ women who have combined passion and hard graft to succeed.

About this Event

After the success of last year's Empowering Women event, Kylie & Nicki from eight73 consulting, are bringing it all back again, with some added glam!

The Love & Labour Event is a chance to connect with girlfriends and take some time to focus on you, which seems to get a little lost when you’re a wife, a mum, an employee and a volunteer! This is a chance to fill up your own cup, and be inspired, motivated and entertained by incredible NZ female entrepreneurs.

There are three featured speakers, plus a Q&A with a panel of local businesswomen, all topped off with dancing & live music from local duo Dawn Roberts & Jonty.

So grab your girlfriends and prepare for a fab night!

$5 of every ticket sold will be donated to Waitomo Waipa Women's Refuge.

Featured Speakers:

Jessie Jarvie, Founder The Baby Bag

Jessie graduated from Auckland Law School in 2011 and married her husband, Paul, that same year. She started her career in the office of Nikki Kaye MP, and then worked as in-house legal counsel at a health software company. During her time as a lawyer, Jessie started a small consulting business designed to help mums transition back to work after having had children. This consulting work lit a fire in her belly, and she became infatuated with the swelling demographic of working parents in New Zealand. In 2015 Jessie launched The Baby Bag, a baby supplies delivery service designed to automate mum life. The Baby Bag have delivered over 20,000 baby bags, and have recently launched a repeat subscription service.

Jessie is also a committed, high spirited and tired mum to George (6), Franklin (4) and Maggie (1).

Emily Holdaway, Founder 'Raising Ziggy' Blog and The Good Fund

4 years ago if you asked Em what she did, the answer was simple 'corporate travel agent'. Now that answer requires a paragraph.

Em is a mother of two, and the mum behind the popular blog, Raising Ziggy. She's a gardener, co-founder of The Good Fund, founder of the Pay It Forward cloth nappy initiative, and an author. With a social media following of close to 50K across 5 platforms, what started as a sharing of thoughts after the birth of her first child has evolved into a full-time job, a social enterprise, and a desire to make a difference, to people, to the planet and to be a force for positive change.

Lisa Fong, Founder Move it Mama

Lisa is coming back! Last year she shared her story of launching Moveitmama – an online community full of inspiration and quick HIIT workout videos that have been designed to help you find, and keep, your sparkle.

Since starting MoveitMama, her growth journey has been incredible. The Spread the Sparkle community now has over 3,100 monthly subscribers, Lisa has a regular weekly radio slot on Newstalk ZB, and she was the winner of NEXT Magazine Her Own Boss awards. All while being a mum of 4 boys.

Lisa will share how she's overcome Imposter Syndrome to grasp the opportunities that have come her way and push past the doubt.

Seating will be done on a first come first seated basis for all individual tickets purchased. If you wish to secure a full table for your friends, you must purchase a table of 10 at the time of buying your ticket.
