Availability of good data is crucial to the development of validated AI solutions.

The University of Canterbury's Faculty of Engineering has partnered with the global Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) to showcase local AI expertise and support businesses in unlocking the full potential of their data. This includes exploring the benefits of open access data to drive productivity, innovation, and growth.

Good data, and the right data infrastructure, is the foundation of a responsible and secure AI strategy.

This forum offers practical insights into how your data and business architecture should be set up to support scalable, real-world AI solutions.

With UC’s applied research focus and IEEE’s global expertise in data and technology, you’ll gain access to practical frameworks, use cases, and actionable steps to help kickstart or advance your AI journey - ensuring your approach is grounded in real-world outcomes, not just theory.

This is a great opportunity for businesses to share their AI and data stories - challenges or aspirations - amongst other industry leaders and with experts from UC and IEEE, to explore how to better harness data for validated AI-driven solutions, tailored to meet business needs.

Join us to:

  • Address real business challenges using data and AI development by engaging with local AI and data experts to foster innovation and develop industry algorithms.
  • Improve business productivity and innovation by gaining insights on the advantages of accessing and managing data, including through IEEE's Dataport platform.
  • Hear from other industry leaders that are utilising AI in their operations, systems and processes.
  • Engage in discussions that best support the adoption of AI and smart data management amongst Canterbury businesses.
