About this event
The Nelson Tasman Youth Workers Collective in partnership with Ara Taiohi presents Mana Taiohi training.
Mana Taiohi is a principle based framework that informs the way people who work with young people work in Aotearoa, and has evolved from the principles of youth development previously expressed in the Youth Development Strategy of Aotearoa (2002). It is informed by the voice of young people and people who work with young people, Aotearoa based literature into positive youth development, and a Te Ao Māori worldview.
Mana Taiohi is not a model of youth development. These principles are interconnected, holistic, and exist in relation to one another. Without any one of them the others are weak.
The training is provided by Jane Zintl and Whetu Campbell from Ara Taiohi, and is free to attend, made possible thanks to support from the Department of Internal Affairs. Spaces are limited so get in quick to reserve your ticket. Note you/your organisation will be liable for an administration fee of $50 pp if you reserve a ticket and do not attend without providing 48 hours notice.
Jane and Whetu are also delivering Code of Ethics training for Youth Work in Aotearoa, on Friday 12 March.
