Event description

Description

Clinical Psychologist Dr Olive Webb will host this interactive workshop which will cover:

  • Understanding what can trigger people to exhibit challenging behaviours
  • Strategies that can help avoid and manage these triggers (including looking at how the environment of the service may be part of these triggers, and how we can be more person driven, rather than service driven)
  • Addressing and managing some of the real and perceived risks of supporting people out in the community. Participants will have the opportunity to work through some of the situations they are dealing with.

Numbers are limited to a maximum of 25.

Registration is open to staff members of organisations contracted by the Ministry of Social Development National Office to provide employment, participation and inclusion services for people with disabilities. You must be a permanent employee or on a long-term fixed contract paid under the MSD contract to be eligible to attend this event. If you don't meet this criteria and would still like to attend (a fee will apply), you can contact us to be added to our wait list - admin@inclusivenz.org.nz.
