Description

Tapuhi Anguti Māori Nursing Leadership & all Māori Leaders are invited to Māori Leadership Wayfinding wānanga being held on the 31st May at Barge Park Whangarei, with Dr Chellie Spiller.

The details for are as follows:

Wayfinding Leadership – Calling the Island to You

“Wayfinding requires that we become ‘explorers of our world’ and set sail beyond the compass of our existing knowledge to traverse uncharted waters in ourselves and in the world.”

In this interactive session, Dr Chellie Spiller, Professor at the University of Waikato Management School, explores three key ideas:

  1. Step into your Rangatira Space,

  2. Call the Island to You and

  3. Embrace the Unknown

Leaders who have stepped into their Rangatira space gain strength from the interweaving of the mana of the team, the community and of colleagues. They help others step into their authentic Rangatira space. By staying still and adjusting to signs in the world, the island comes to the wayfinder.

This is a journey of be-coming not be-going. The wisdom contained in Māori values, developed over the aeons in relationship to the world around us help embrace the unknown.

This is a world of “I belong therefore I am” and creating a culture of belonging is at the heart of Wayfinding Leadership.
