Come to The Hub and learn about Matariki with artist Temairiki Williams, and create your own Kohatu

About this Event

Learn about the history and significance of this important time of year. Create your every own Kohatu (meaning stone), and for children under 10 they will make a Matariki cards, which you get to keep. You will be shown how to colour these correctly with the incredible local artist, Temairiki Williams.

Sessions are on 14-17 July Tue- Friday, starting at 10am each day and run for 2 hours. The first part of sesssion is hui on the meaning of Matariki. After the mahi toi creation finish with learning and singing a Matariki song. We have a maximum capacity of 15 children aged under 10 and 15 spaces for 10years and overs - each day.

All children under 14years must be supervised during the event.

We want to celebrate and embrace our history, culture and whanau.
