Event description

Description

The workshop

Character Explosion - Characters are at the heart of improv. They hold us in the reality and build a connection with the audience. In this workshop, we’ll focus on character variety –from goofy to grounded, absurd to vulnerable, and everything in between. At the end of this workshop you’ll be holding onto your character choices with greater strength and exploring their depths with more confidence.

The tutors

Quinn has been improvising since 2009 and teaching since 2011 in Austin, Texas. Outside of Megan and Quinn, he regularly performs with Austin/Austin and in the Hideout Theatre's premier show The Big Bash. Some of his improvised theatre credits include: Peter Pan and the Great Unknown (Hideout Theatre), Austin Secrets, (Hideout Theatre), and The Professor: Improv Inspired by Doctor Who (Salvage Vanguard Theatre / Institution Theater). Quinn is currently a member of the Hideout Theatre faculty and has taught workshops both locally and around the world from Japan to London.

Megan is a classically trained mezzo soprano, actor, and improviser. She performs regularly with Megan and Quinn, her musical troupe Rook, and on scripted and operatic stages in the Austin area.
