Event description

Description

Meremere Brings to you the incredible journey and story of Rodney Bell (Ngati Maniapoto from an international career in integrated dance, through years of homelessness in America, to returning home to Te Kuiti, Aoteraroa. The work powerfully layers movement, projected imagery and documentary footage to bring his stories to life in an hour-long work. A beautiful, and intimate performance experience that invites the audience inside this unique and inspirational memoir. Meremere features live music by renowned composer Eden Mulholland.

The work is insightful, surprising very personal and incredibly engaging.

“Meremere is the ultimate combination of theatre, dance, music, film; of storytelling and image evoking; of power and play” – Leah Carrell, Theatreview

“Rodney’s dancing is moving and absorbing, sculptural and full of emotion…” – NZ Herald

“…it is an intrinsically New Zealand story of great courage and achievement…” – DANZ

We want as many people as possible to see this powerful show and encourage you to pay as much as you can afford.

PLEASE bring photo ID with you as you will be entering the Military Camp.
