Midwinter Woolfeast 2017
Sat 17 June 2017, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM NZST
Come along to the newly built Te Hapua: Halswell Centre for a day of visual, tactile and culinary treats. Entrance is free! Your eyes will be opened to the colour and opulence of the modern world of woolcraft. Fuelled by an enormous resurgence of interest online, crafts such as knitting, crochet and spinning have transformed from a quiet hobby to a hipster obsession. Come to the Midwinter Woolfeast and see what all the fuss is about.
The Midwinter Woolfeast is your opportunity to buy from some of New Zealand's most talented fibre artists and indie yarn dyers. Many of the traders do not sell through conventional shops and their products are snapped up by a dedicated, international, online fan base within minutes of publication. These kiwis are making a big splash overseas, it is a real treat to have so much talent come together for this event. Wool is a part of New Zealand's heritage, let's celebrate it!
