Description

This one-morning workshop is designed for people living with chronic pain, their friends, families & caregivers. Learn to integrate mindfulness practices into your life to help you:

  • Manage chronic pain and learn to work with intense sensations

  • Redefine your relationship with pain

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Improve the quality of your life

  • Free yourself of repetitive stories

  • Culitvate an attitude of friendliness to yourself

  • Experience calm and relaxation

Approximately 1 in 5 New Zealanders live with chronic pain and many more with pervasive discomfort Mindfulness has been shown to help people live more easily in their bodies and minds even when coping with frequent pain. Mindfulness is also helpful for working with emotional pain.

Facilitator: Rachel Tobin and Tim Roberts
Times: 9.30am - 1.00pm
Cost: $59 (Morning, teas and snacks will be provided.

The workshop is suitable for beginners, and for those with experience in mindfulness meditation.

About Tim Roberts: “ I facilitated mindfulness courses for leaders until my Parkinson’s diagnosis a few years ago. Since that diagnosis, particularly when I felt overwhelmed, I have found mindfulness practice to be a life saver. My body’s experience of discomfort, especially rigidity, motivates me to share what I am learning in the hope that it helps others.”
