In the right hands, Minecraft is a powerful learning tool. But there are some distractions and there is potential for students to miss out on learning opportunities.

This hands-on course is designed to develop teachers’ Minecraft skills so that they can create and deliver meaningful learning tasks and manage student behaviour in Minecraft worlds. We will learn how to:

• Use Minecraft user commands
• Create characters in Minecraft
• Explore additional settings “under the hood”

Teachers who attend this course need to have some knowledge of Minecraft, or experience gaming as part of their leisure activities. If you do not fall into one of these categories, we highly recommend also registering for the Minecraft Education Edition: Getting Started beginner course held directly before this afternoon session.

What to bring: a laptop that you can install software on, your laptop charger and a mouse. The mouse is essential.
