Event description

Description

NZ4503: "If fire safety equipment is available onsite then staff should be trained how to use it”

This Fire Safety Training course has been designed as an intermediate level instruction on how to assess fire situations, what extinguishers can be used on what type of fire and to get your staff confident in the practical use of extinguishers should a small fire occur while they are on duty.

A consise course lasting around one and a half hours, covering discussion on fires, a video on timing, extinguisher knowledge, practical fire demonstration and use, as well as a final test to ensure they have taken onboard everything we have been through. As part of this every staff member will get to use at least one extinguisher on an actual fire from our specially designed fire trailer whilst also learning what each extinguisher can do, the types of fire it is right to use on and how to avoid injuring themselves or others in the event of a fire.

Course Inclusions:
· Introduction
· Fire safety theory
· Fire extinguisher theory including an interactive discussion on human reaction, fire science and fire classification, as well as fire extinguisher identification and evacuation requirements
· Live fire extinguisher training and use of a range of extinguishers
· Home and earthquake safety theory
· Question and Answer time
· Assessment Discussion and Test

Once the course has been completed and the test sheet marked with a 95% pass rate a Fire Safety Training Certificate will be issued that lasts for two years.
