Narrative4 and Uniting Canterbury Women Story Exchange
Date and time
Join us for this exciting story exchange event, with the theme 'Women are Powerful'
About this event
The Uniting Canterbury Women crew are excited to be partnering with global story exchange organisation, Narrative4, to help launch their brand new Christchurch team, at this exciting story exchange event at the stunning Kate Sheppard House.
A Narrative4 story exchange is a unique opportunity to engage deeply and authentically with others through the process of sharing and listening. During your time with the group you’ll spend time with another participant, mutually hearing and receiving each other’s story. The Narrative4 twist is that you will then share your partner’s story with the whole group, and they in turn will share yours. This act of trust and vulnerability connects us to another in an empathetic and meaningful way resulting in an experience that you can learn and grow from.
The theme of the Uniting Canterbury Women and Narrative4 collaboration will be Women are Powerful. For this event, come prepared with a story about a time that you felt powerful! Perhaps you got an amazing promotion at work, made a really hard decision, or made it through a really tough situation. You can write your story down, or just speak off the cuff. Your story just has to be true and yours to tell.
The facilitators, Shannon and Steffi, will begin the day by demonstrating a story exchange by sharing stories of their own. You will be guided through the experience and the facilitators will do their utmost to ensure you feel emotionally safe! You may find the experience challenges your comfort zone but that you also enhance your self-awareness and understanding of others.
A light lunch of finger food will be provided so please let us know of any dietary requirement. The venue does not have parking but free on street parking is available on Clyde Road or there is paid parking next door at Canterbury Universities Clyde Rd carpark. Please allow some extra time to find a park. You will need to wear a mask, scan in, and show your vaccine pass to attend this event.
Tickets are limited, so are restricted to one ticket per person. Thank you!
