National Dialogue on HIV, Refugees and Migrants
Event Information
About this event
It is estimated that around one third of the people living with HIV in Aotearoa are refugees and migrants from culturally diverse backgrounds.
HIV stigma and discrimination continues to be the biggest barrier to reaching both national and global efforts in HIV prevention, and critically, for the health and wellbeing of people living with and affected by HIV.
This hui will provide some background information about HIV, but most importantly we want to dialogue with you, community organisations who are working with refugees and migrants.
Through collaborative and open dialogue, we hope that together we can develop meaningful strategies to enhance the lives of refugees and migrants in Aotearoa affected by HIV.
If you have any further questions, please contact Judith Mukakayange by email Judith.Mukakayange@nzaf.org.nz, or phone 0800 802 437
We hope you will join us in this landmark venture.
