Come and join us for some Needle Felting!

In this workshop, children will learn where wool comes from, how felt was discovered and its significance in human history. They will learn the techniques of needle felting and then make their own colourful shapes and creatures to turn into brooches or charms, or just keep as pets!

The workshop will be run by educator and Montessori crafts expert Carol Palmer. Carol is well-known to MindPlus and Wā Ora students, as well as being the author of The Work of Wool - a text book for teaching handwork curriculum, that is used by educators around the world.

This adventure is recommended for ages 7 up and Explorers must be accompanied by an adult - who may be encouraged to get involved too!

Note - there is a risk of pricking fingers (most kids do it at some point but usually get over it quickly and carry on 😊

There are only 15 spaces for children available, so get in quick!

Date: Sunday November 17th, 10:30am to 12pm.

Tickets cost $15 per child for Explorers members (adults don't need a ticket!) – Siblings $10 each. Non-members $25.

Venue: The Hutt Arts Centre (aka Hutt Art Society) is at 9-11 Myrtle Street, Lower Hutt central,
near the Civic Centre and right beside the Huia Pool.
