The Nelson Women's Centre is celebrating 20 years of service to the Nelson community!
For more than 20 years, the Nelson Women’s Centre has been helping women in the region with their wellbeing, personal development, health and relationships.
They're celebrating with a birthday party (postponed from 14 November due to the Kaikoura earthquake) featuring wonderful New Zealand wahine: author Elizabeth Knox, Member of Parliament Marama Davidson and singer Debbie Harwood.
A silent auction offers a long list of amazing items kindly donated by local businesses, including jewellery, beauty treatments, homewares, books, and much more.
Delicious nibbles and drinks will be served.
All proceeds go towards helping the Centre deliver their vital services to women in need.
Thank you to all our generous sponsors who are helping make this celebration a night to remember.
The Nelson Women's Centre aims to empower women to be safe and resourceful, to value themselves, and to achieve their potential.
They provides services and resources for all women in the Nelson Tasman region, especially those with multiple vulnerability factors such as complex socio-economic backgrounds or situations.
The Centre offers social worker support, free counselling, an education, arts and wellbeing programme, a women's library, and a very low-cost opshop, all within a safe drop-in space
