Over the first 2 days of the conference there will be a range of speakers from across New Zealand, Australia, and beyond, presenting on modern materials and techniques. They will cover a wide variety of specialisms and there certainly will be something for everyone.
We are thrilled to announce that Asti Sherring, Time-Based Art Conservator at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, will be this year’s keynote speaker. Asti is the first Time-Based Art Conservator to be appointed in Australasia. Her work to address the outstanding and key issues of caring for TBA collections has led to the development of new and inspiring ways of working and we are really excited for her to share them with us all. Further details of the programme will be released in late August.
There will be a drinks reception on the 23rd (more details soon!) and the conference dinner will take place on Thursday the 24th at the delicious Permit Room in central Christchurch.
Day 3 will provide the opportunity to participate in a several different conservation and heritage related activities in Christchurch and the surrounding area.
We look forward to seeing you there!
