About this event

We warmly invite you to the 2019 New Zealand River Awards. These recognise where communities, councils, farmers and industry are achieving significant improvement in water quality in one or more of their local rivers. This annual Wellington-based event is attended by over 100 key stakeholders and highlights of the evening include:

• Most Improved River Awards – this year E.coli (water quality) and the MCI (biological health) will be combined to reflect a more representative indicator of river health.

• River Story Awards – compelling stories of individual and/or communities working to improve the health of a river, or rivers generally.

• Reo Mō Te Awa (River Voice) Award – an individual who has the raised the profile of rivers through public commentary.

• Keynote speaker – Professor Stuart Bunn, Griffith University and Rivers Institute, who will push the boundaries about how we think about water health.

The NZ 2019 River Awards are proudly bought to you by Cawthron and our generous sponsors include Lane Neave, Ministry for the Environment and the Department of Conservation.

The ticket price includes: a three course menu and beverages for the evening. If you want to contact the organisers about any aspect of the NZ River Awards please email: foundation@cawthron.org.nz
