Event description
An exploration of the current and projected use of AI for NZ and the future of work, presented by Quanton Keynote Prof. James Maclaurin.

About this event

An exploration of the current and projected use of ‘AI’ in N ew Zealand , strategies to govern AI in the future, large scale adoption scenarios and what it means for the future of work and commerce.

The enhancement of commerce, government and everyday life is the promise of ‘AI’ and smart technologies. And the looming threat often touted is the chance of being left behind by the ‘AI revolution’.

In this exclusive presentation with Otago University’s Professor James Maclaurin, we explore New Zealand’s world leading use of predictive analytics and risk modelling in the provisioning of government services, and the projected use of algorithms by the public sector in the future.

James’s presentation will address the hard questions exploring the regulatory and governance strategies required for Artificial Intelligence, large scale adoption scenarios and the changing nature of work for New Zealanders.

We round the evening off with a panel discussion by leading representatives from New Zealand’s technology and enterprise sector.

Organiser Quanton

Organiser of New Zealand's AI Future - Virtual Event

The way the world works is changing, and organisations need to change with it. At Quanton we transform your operating model to a new, future-focused way of working by helping you build internal capability and find the sweet spots where automation can have the biggest impact on your organisation – with quantifiable benefit.

As the world evolves, businesses know they need to change the way they operate to be successful. However, it’s not as simple as just applying new tools and technology. Between where you are now, and where you’re going, there is the question of how – and that’s the bit we’re great at.

At the forefront of automation since the beginning, we’ve made mistakes, learned to balance risk versus return, and been instrumental in making digital transformations successful. Now we’re rewriting the rule book, leading business leaders towards new ways of working through our specialist advisory and delivery services.

Connecting the future with now, we navigate through the hype with a healthy dose of pragmatism – simplifying automation, aligning your digital transformation with your vision and strategy and connecting activity to the realisation of business goals.

We help you build internal capability (not external dependency), make informed decisions, and find the sweet spots where automation can have the biggest impact on your organisation – the areas where your people and your technology can work in tandem to create your optimal workforce.

You see, true transformation can only occur when people, processes, and technology come together in the right balance. Whether working out how to start the journey, or getting you unstuck, we’ll create a roadmap that brings this balance to life in your business – and transforms your operating model to a new, future-focused way of working.
