Ngā Pou Turuturu
Overview
Ngā Pou Turuturu – Professional Development for Māori Birthing Practitioners.
Limited to 20 participants with only 1 scholarship available – early registration is recommended.
All wānanga will be held in person at Te Whare Mamahu in Ōwairaka, Tāmaki Makaurau.
It takes many relationships to form safer birthing communities within our modern day society. Ngā Pou Turuturu is a professional development series made up of 3x 3 day wānanga that aims to:
-Deepen understandings of hakapapa and tikanga within Te Whare Pora
-Integrate te reo Māori including karakia and oriori into birthing contexts
-Recognise tohu during labour and birth, and respond appropriately
-Explore rongoā as supportive practices
-Reflect on professional growth and set future goals
Facilitator:
Hiramārie Moewaka Latimer
Ngāpuhi | Co-founder of Te Whare Mamahu Hiramārie brings years of experience as a mātauranga-based birthing practitioner, guided by kaumātua and senior practitioners, and experience in practice.
