Description

Nui te Kōrero 2020: Resilience

When: Monday 25 & Tuesday 26 May 2020

Where: Te Papa, Wellington

At the 2020 conference we’ll explore what makes a resilient arts sector now and in the future for the long-term benefit of all New Zealanders, including new models of value creation that drive resilience.

We recognise that for New Zealand’s arts sector to be resilient, artists need to be supported to hone their knowledge and skills in their craft. Arts organisations also need support so they can lead with care and expertise, and be governed and managed prudently, but with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Challenging us to consider the big issues of the day through a bi-cultural lens, Nui te Kōrero 2020 will offer sessions on:

      1. Innovation – new ways of working and new models of value creation that drive resilience
      2. Sector leadership – partnering and peer-to-peer learning to build the capability of the sector
      3. Arts and cultural policy – what we could achieve for the sector by working with other agencies
      4. Well-being and Hauora
      5. Inclusivity – responsiveness to diverse communities and relevance to current and changing communities.

Look out for our first programme announcement in March.

To encourage a cross-sector national conversation we are again offering tickets to practitioners and artists at a subsidised rate. Join us for a kōrero that will challenge, provoke and inspire change both within you and your practice or organisation.

Nui te Kōrero is Creative New Zealand’s annual leadership conference. It’s where managers, leaders, producers, practitioners, marketers and governors working in the arts gather for a national conversation about the big issues of the day.

Up to 230 places are available on a first-come-first-served basis. We welcome multiple registrations and aim to include a wide range of arts organisations. Priority will be given to those in our Toi Tōtara Haemata and Toi Uru Kahikatea investment programmes.

You’ll find video and resources from last year’s event here.
