CONSORT Guidelines for nutrition research (In person)
Overview
The Federation of European Nutrition Societies (FENS) working group has developed a specific nutrition extension to the CONSORT (CONsolidated Standards Of Reporting Trials) guidelines. CONSORT provides a structured framework to ensure the accurate reporting of clinical trials; however, due to the complex and multifactorial nature of nutrition research, nutrition trials are often poorly reported. This lack of clarity can lead to uncertainty in interpreting results and hinders the effective translation of nutrition evidence into public health policy, clinical practice, and dietary guidelines.
Dr Karen Murphy Bio:
Dr Karen Murphy, Associate Professor in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of South Australia, is a member of the FENS working group responsible for developing the CONSORT-Nutrition extension. She leads the global dissemination task force and will provide an overview of the newly updated CONSORT statement, along with a workshop on implementing the CONSORT-Nutrition guidelines in research practice.
