Description

Architecture as a way of seeing, thinking and questioning our world and our place in it has expanded as the profession engages in brand association, their commercial identities and with the ephemera of social media. Jeremy Hansen chairs a lively conversation with some of our city’s best designers as they discuss how they use, abuse and depend on the value of these tools to tackle contemporary challenges and get architecture back at the forefront of public conversations that matter.

Speakers

Clem Devine, Jasmax

As Brand Design Lead at Jasmax, Clem is tasked with developing a multidisciplinary team of visual communicators and spatial designers, to enhance the built environment. Prior to establishing the Brand Design practice at Jasmax, Clem led the studio as Creative Director at Richards Partners after retiring from eight years at Alt Group.

To date his work has received recognition in six countries including D&AD, Red Dot, The Tokyo Type Directors Club, Best Awards, AGDA and selection as a Young Gun 2011 by the New York Art Directors Club in 2011.

Jeff Fearon, Fearon Hay Architects

Fearon Hay Architects is a design-led studio undertaking a broad range of projects located in diverse environments. The practice was founded by Tim Hay and Jeff Fearon in 1998 and was established to enable their combined involvement in the design and execution of each project.

Working nationally and internationally, the studio enjoys responding to a range of briefs: Commercial projects for office and workplace; complex heritage environments; public work within the urban realm or wider landscape, private dwellings, and detailed bespoke work for hospitality and interior projects.

Sarosh Mulla and Liz Tjahjana, PAC

Paterson Architecture Collective (PAC) is an ideas-driven design office, committed to intellectual and artistic rigour, and fueled by a strong commitment to realising ideas in the world. PAC believe in a thoughtful and inclusive approach to design, and that by putting people at the heart of any potential solution is the key to compelling and positive architecture. Through PAC’s relationships with interrelated disciplines – furniture, art, landscape, academia – they create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
