NZX training for administrative trading halts
NZX is changing the way administrative trading halts are applied after the release of announcements to the market.
Under the proposed changes, issuers will be required to confirm whether an announcement contains material information or falls within a prescribed category when submitting an announcement for release to the market.
Announcements will only be able to be submitted using the Market Announcement Platform. The administrative trading halt which follows the release of announcements will be automatically placed based on the confirmation made by the issuer. NZX will no longer be reviewing announcements before release to the market.
NZX is holding training for issuers at the start of May to explain these changes and answer any questions you may have. Training will be held in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, as well as by webinar.
The training will be operational in nature. It will focus on the system changes to the Markets Announcements Platform, and other process changes that will be relevant to you and your engagement with NZX. The training will not cover issuers' continuous disclosure obligations.
Please register, by clicking the select a date button. Session spaces are limited so please register early. Sessions are expected to run for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
What if I cannot make the available session times?
For those issuers who are unable to make the available sessions times, NZX will be webcasting the Wellington training sessions. We will provide details on how issuers can participate in these sessions in due course.
NZX will also be running a webinar for issuers based in Europe to attend on the evening of 11 May (New Zealand time), and will contact relevant issuers directly to provide details of this webinar.
