WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

• Crafting your podcast idea

• Targeting and building an audience

• Vocal Presentation Basics

• Basic recording, editing and mixing skills

• Understanding copyright

• Publishing and Marketing your podcas

• Marketing Your Podcast.

WHY DO THIS COURSE:

It has never been easier, or as inexpensive, to self-publish your own audio – podcasting is one of the fastest growing media platforms in the world.

ABOUT THE TUTOR:

Four time NZ Radio Award Finalist, Jono Manks, is Programme Manager of the NZ Radio Training School based at Te Auaha.

In 2014 Jono’s own podcast ‘NERD Zealand’ was #1 on Apple iTunes Comedy podcasts.

With over 20 years in commercial radio, he has worked primarily as an on-air presenter and voice-over artist.

LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE:

This is an entry-level programme and requires an intermediate level of computer literacy.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Recording hardware and software supplied on-campus – but having your own pair of headphones is encouraged.

• A very basic theme/idea for a podcast that can be developed from.

• The hardware/software to continue making your podcast post study.
