Ōhanga Rearea: Online Launch

Welcome to the online launch of Ōhanga Rearea — a Takatāpui and Rainbow inclusion framework that has been years in the making.

Ōhanga Rearea is rooted in te ao Māori and has been co-designed with communities across Aotearoa. It offers structure, support, and a strategic vision to people and organisations wanting to do better by takatāpui and rainbow communities — in ways that are grounded, relational, and aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

It is named after the small rearea bird (also known as the korimako), inspired by the whakataukī 'itiiti rearea, teitei kahikatea ka kaea — although the rearea bird is small, it can ascend the great heights of the kahikatea tree'.

Come along to this launch event to learn more about the rearea, its relationship with te ao Māori and to this framework. And connect with those interested in strengthening our approach to takatāpui and rainbow inclusion in organisations throughout Aotearoa.

Presented by Connor McLeod (he/they) of Rangitāne o Wairau.

Director and Founder at Uenuku Consulting.
