An insight into the Open Data Institute: a conversation with Richard Stirling
#opendataleadership   @opendatanz

Richard StirlingRichard Stirling is the International Director of the Open Data Institute, based in London, which was founded by Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Sir Nigel Shadbolt in 2012 to connect, equip and inspire people around the world to promote innovation with open data.

Open data is data that anyone can access, use or share. Simple as that. When big companies or governments release non-personal data, it enables small businesses, citizens and researchers to develop resources which make crucial improvements to their communities.

Join this online conversation between Richard Stirling (International Director, Open Data Institute) and moderator Pallas Hupe Cotter via Google Hangout, as Richard shares more about the Open Data Institute's vision and their work around the globe.

Richard will also share about the Open Data Institute's global nodes. Operating at a city or regional level, the ODI nodes commit their individual country expertise and physical presence to develop sustainable businesses that support the business case for openness, and ensure open data is for everyone.

Here is the live stream link to watch the hangout online. The session will also be available after 11 March on our YouTube channel: Open Data NZ.
