OPEN REHEARSAL: School of Music Festival

The University of Auckland School of Music is pleased to invite secondary school students and teachers into the rehearsal studio as our University singers put together the final touches on their 2018 Opera Scenes production.

Now in its fourth year, the 2018 programme comprises a wide variety of repertoire from Mozart to Lehár, Blitzstein to Offenbach, all set as a vaudeville show straight out of 1910 New York. Wallace Opera Training Programme

The Wallace Foundation has generously endowed the School of Music with funding to establish the Wallace Opera Training Programme. Renowned patron of the arts Sir James Wallace established The Wallace Foundation and the James Wallace Arts Trust, to foster, maintain, promote and advance the education of New Zealand artists and New Zealand people generally in the creative arts.

The Wallace Opera Training Programme, directed by Head of Voice Dr Te Oti Rakena and Artistic Director Dr Gregory Camp, is a one of a kind incubator for growing the opera stars of tomorrow.

Opera Scenes is the culmination performance by voice students involved in the Wallace Opera Training Programme and this production was made possible thanks to The Wallace Foundation's considerable support.
