Description

A workshop to understand why we use oral language activities for supportive learning.

This workshop will cover:


Why is Oral Language important for communication?
Activities to increase understanding
Activities to develop the use of specific vocabulary
Following instructions
Listening comprehension
Extending auditory memory
ESOL and supportive language student activities- would need to be adjusted if using with special needs

About the Presenter

Denny Newburn

I started my teaching career 41 years ago as an intermediate school teacher, moved on to work with young offenders, then in secondary schools, students with special learning needs, and then ESOL students.
I am currently SENCo and literacy Leader at James Cook High School. I have written a number of texts for ESOL and secondary school social studies.
