Our New Health System
Event Information
About this event
We’re excited to invite you join us in person (or online) to our next networking event!
As you will have heard, New Zealand is changing how health services are structured and delivered to ensure all New Zealanders get the services they need, and to meet future challenges. Interim Health New Zealand has been established and is preparing for Day 1 of the new health system - July 1. On this date Health New Zealand will inherit DHBs, shared services agencies and the Health Promotion Agency, and will work in partnership with the new Maori Health Authority, and the Ministry of Health to provide health services to New Zealand.
How will the upcoming changes in the health system impact on the healthtech sector?
Health New Zealand will be the operational lead for Data and Digital in the new system, and is currently working closely with the Ministry, DHBs and Shared Service Agencies to make sure there is continuity of data and digital services on Day 1. Together they are developing a forward view of the digital and data ways of working and priorities for the health system.
Our guest speaker is Emily Mailes who was the Principal Advisor for digital and data within the Transition Unit. Emily is now working within Health New Zealand to prepare the digital and data function for Day 1 and beyond.
This is an excellent opportunity to hear about the importance of technology and data in ensuring the success of the reforms. Emily will provide information on the data and digital priorities for the new system and how the operating model for a data and digitally enabled health system is being developed. Her discussion will include how the system will work with industry, participation from third parties and vendors, and short-term opportunities.
