What sort of experience is required for me to be eligible to attend this program?

Accepted Answer

Since we only have space for a total of 25 coaches listed as certified on our website (see below for more details), we have a preference for those with an existing clinical or social service qualification and for those who are fluent in more than one language.However, this is not mandatory.

Question 2

Are there any other requirements to be eligible to enter this program?

Accepted Answer

In addition to the enrolment fee (purchased here), we require proof of a clean police record according to the country that is on your passport.  We will also require a copy of your identification (passport) to confirm your identity and citizenship.

Question 3

Can I pay this enrolment off in stages?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can arrange to do that however, we will continue to sell tickets until all 20 have gone so we cannot guarantee your place and will refund you if all tickets have sold.

Question 4

What happens if I am sick or unable to attend a session?

Accepted Answer

We require that you attend at least 18 of the 21 sessions with proof that you have watched the recordings of any that you have not attended in person (there will be attendance records and tests/videos required of attendees to show proof of watching the recorded videos).

Question 5

I really want to attend this program but it is at a time that I can't attend, what can I do?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately as stated above, we require in-person online attendance for at least 18 sessions.  If the time does not suit your particular time zone in your country, you can email Kristina Grace at getoutofthefog.org with your country and time zone and ask to be informed of future courses.

Question 6

My English is not very good, can I still attend the course?

Accepted Answer

No.  We require a high level of understanding as well as written and spoken English because the course is in English and we cannot determine your understanding or abilities at the end of the course in order to recommend you as a Mental Health Coach.

Question 7

Once I have completed the training, will I definitely be certified as an "Out of the Fog" Coach?

Accepted Answer

No.  You will have to pass the final stage of supervised coaching first.  You will have the opportunity to demonstrate what you know in supervised coaching sessions and you must pass these sessions to be certified as an "Out of the Fog" Mental Health coach and listed on the "Out of the Fog" website.

Question 8

What happens if I do not want to sit the final exam or I do not pass the final exam?

Accepted Answer

The final exam is 4 x supervised coaching sessions which are at an additional cost to the training of $85 USD/session.  You can still receive a Certificate of Completion of the course without these but you will not be listed as a certified "Out of the Fog" Mental Health Coach on our website.

Question 9

Are there any other requirements to being listed as a certified "Out of the Fog" coach?

Accepted Answer

It is required our listed Mental Health Coaches on the 'Out of the Fog' website undergo at least monthly supervision with Kristina Grace (Registered Social Worker and author of the programme).  These supervision sessions cost $85 USD per session.  This is to ensure that your practice is safe.

Question 10

What are the benefits to being listed as a certified "Out of the Fog" coach?

Accepted Answer

We limit listed coaches on our website to 25.  Those 25 coaches will receive exclusive access to monthly supervision with Kristina Grace, free promotion of their services to an international audience and access to free resources and ongoing support.
