Event description
Join us in a talanoa that will help shape and build on the successes of our Pacific communities in Auckland.

About this Event

Kia ora, Malo e lelei, Talofa lava, Taloha ni, Ni sa bula, Kia Orana & warm Pacific greetings!

Join us to talanoa about the future aspirations of Pacific Aucklanders and how we can collectively build on the successes and strengths of our communities.

This year, Auckland Council is updating its 10-year community and social development plan (Thriving Communities/Ngā Hapori Momoho Plan) and it’s essential that Pacific Aucklanders have a strong voice in the new plan as it will set the direction for council’s work until 2030.

We will also invite you to have your say on Auckland Council’s Annual Budget 2020/2021. Every three years we do a 10-year Budget which plans out our work programme and how to fund it. Each year, we update the 10-year Budget to respond to emerging issues and reflect any changes to our fees and charges. Don’t miss the opportunity to help us shape Auckland’s future.

- local board priorities

Don’t miss the opportunity to have your say on the Annual Budget 2020/2021 to help us shape Auckland’s future.

Session 2: Thriving Communities Refresh

In recent years Auckland has experienced rapid population growth, increasing diversity and growing socio-economic inequality. These changes present both challenges and opportunities for the way we support communities, design and deliver our services and enable all Aucklanders to participate and feel included.

This is why Auckland Council is updating its 10-year community and social development strategy – the Thriving Communities/Ngā Hapori Momoho Action Plan – to better reflect Auckland’s changing and diverse populations.

During this session you will be asked a series of key discussion questions which will help give a clear direction on what we can collectively do to foster thriving, inclusive and resilient pacific communities where everyone is valued, can participate, connect and feel they belong.

Come and help us strengthen our pacific communities voices within the refreshed plan by participating in this fono and to share your ideas.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Cheers,

Trust MyRivr
