For more than 130 years, the Pacific has been cultivating, exporting, eating and drinking cacao of their own making. This year, for the first time in the history of the world, Pacific growers and chocolate makers will meet craft chocolatiers and consumers from Aotearoa, to celebrate this Superfood, at a 1-day trade event held at Mt Smart Stadium.
The daytime show will feature 27 exhibitors, and 6 exciting competitions designed to reward Farmers, Bean-to-Bar Chocolate Makers, Youth Cacao Innovators, and Chocolate Lovers. Prizes range from $500 to $5000; sponsored by a range of organisations including Pacific Corporation Foundation; Taumeasina Island Resort Samoa, Jack's Shipping Containers, Ao Cacao, Ms Sunshine Organic Farms and PCC2022.
Seven Pacific Island countries will be entering their bean-to-bar samples in the first Pacific Cup for cacao and chocolate- Samoa, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea/ Bougainville, Fiji and the Philippines. Raglan Chocolate is the official bean-to-bar maker of these country samples.
