NB: Participants must attend all four sessions to gain the Hospice New Zealand palliative care certificate.
This workshop has been designed for health care assistants (HCA) support workers and caregivers in all care settings to improve their knowledge and understanding of palliative care. The education is endorsed by Hospice New Zealand and facilitated by Nelson Tasman Hospice.
Topics covered include:
- Principles of palliative care
- Managing physical symptoms
- Care in the last days of life
- Communication
- Understanding loss and grief
- Spirituality and self-care
Target audience: Heath care assistants, Support workers and Caregivers
Vaccination passes are required for all Hospice education sessions: Please show your vaccination pass at the workshop
