This programme has been designed for Health Care Assistants & Support Workers working in Aged Residential Care or the community to improve their knowledge and understanding of palliative care.
The education is endorsed by Hospice New Zealand and a certificate will be awarded on completion of the programme.
- Please note, this workshop is 2 hours per session over 4 weeks and attendees must attend all 4 sessions to gain the Hospice NZ Palliative Care Certificate.

- Managing physical symptoms
- Care in the last days of life
- Communication
- Understanding loss and grief
- Spirituality and self-care
Target audience: Heath care assistants, Support workers and Caregivers working in rest homes & community homes
