Parabola West is taking her Purity of Weakness tour on the road throughout February and March of 2018. The tour will be coming to Hanmer Springs on Saturday, 3rd for a Home Concert via Music & Arts Hanmer Springs. Details available from http://musicandarts.co.nz

Her latest EP, Purity of Weakness, was released on the 8th September, and showcases her unique blend of ethereal soundscapes and well-crafted songwriting. Her tour will bring the visual and sonic elements of the EP to life in each show.

“It’s not your standard gig! Expect live mixing, projectors and visuals that accompany the varying sounds of the music. It will be a real experience.”

Drawing inspiration from Nordic folk roots, electronica, and organic sounds, this Raglan-based artist is evolving into a soundscape storyteller.

Music reviewer Corinne Rutherford describes the EP as ”a lush mix of Celtic / Nordic, Folk, and Electronic, it is mystical and magical and everything you could expect from an artist with the name of Parabola West.”

Originally from East Coast America, Parabola West began writing songs as a teenager. She moved to New Zealand in 2003 and after a 10 year “corporate world” break from music, she returned to her musical roots and launched her solo career as Parabola West in 2013. Her debut EP Did You Hear? was released in March 2014 to great reviews. The much anticipated follow-up was her hit single ‘Fire’ in October 2015, which received a $10,000 recording and video grant from NZonAir.

With the help of fans who supported her successful 2016 INDIEGOGO crowd funding campaign Parabola West was able to record Purity of Weakness earlier this year, and has had a great response both locally and overseas.

“Her music strikes for a truly balanced alchemy of melodies, groove and emotion, to create something meaningful and unique.” – www.theaudience.co.nz. Parabola West’s tour will bring this magic to the stage, and is sure to amaze her audience.
