We want our schools and communities to be safe. The risk, frequency and severity of online harm is increasing for our children, and we need to tackle this together.
As such, we have organised for Filmmaker, Author and Speaker Rob Cope to present Our Kids Online Parent Evening on Monday 11th August at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm – same presentation. Tickets are $10+fee.
At least one caregiver from each family should make this a priority to attend. Please note this talk is for adults only.
ISSUES
- Online Predators, Social Media Online Porn vs Healthy Sexuality, Cyberbullying, Naked Selfies, Gaming, and the Developing Brain
SOLUTIONS
- Filters, Locking Smartphones, Boundaries, 3 Golden Rules, Talking to Your Kids, Challenging our own Device Usage, and Reconnecting as a Family
‘We have now reached the point where it is irresponsible of us as parents, teachers, health professionals, and policymakers to continue to put these devices, which are designed to elicit addictive-like qualities, in our kids’ hands and then expect them to be accountable for their own wellbeing’. Dr Samantha Marsh - University of Auckland Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences
*Included with your ticket is a one-year complimentary subscription to ‘Parenting in an Online World 101’ from Rob and team at Our Kids Online.
