Event description
Supporting the Himalayan Trust: Personal leadership development with wisdom from pundits of courage, leadership & high performance

About this Event

Great news! We are delighted to announce the rescheduled event date for Conquer Your Own Mountain.

An afternoon for personal development and leadership enhancement, offering wisdom through the lens of Sir Edmund Hillary’s words: “It’s not the mountain we conquer but ourselves”.

The opportunity to engage with, and gain knowledge, from inspirational cultivators of leadership and high performance, with the option to attend in person, or join through live stream. Hosting three absolutely epic presenters, this event was created for people who are invested in pursuing their greatness, through striving, building resilience and developing their own personal and collective leadership skills. This is not simply a sit-back-and-listen seminar, attendees will get to actively engage, leaving better equipped to become the best version of themselves. Featuring:

David Galbraith Elite sport psychologist and wizard of authenticity, DG. has spent many years supporting individuals and teams to unleash their greatness at the highest level, and deliver maximum magic through forging a pathway of courage.

Paul Jeune As the previous director of the New Zealand Skydiving School, ‘The Altitude Leader’ draws on decades of experience training skydivers in unforgiving environments, to help improve performance among teams, organisations and businesses — ultimately developing leadership at every level.

Rachel Matheson Specialising in mindfulness, resilience and productivity, Rachel has vast experience working with people from all walks of life. She offers professional training and facilitation, fueled by her passion for helping people become the best version of themselves.

Hillary Step Higher Award Alumni Panel During their time as Sir Edmund Hillary Scholars, Jeremy, Kelly, and Morgan each received the prestigious 'Step Higher' Award. This award gives recipients the unique opportunity to visit Nepal and see first-hand the difference Sir Edmund Hillary has made in the lives of the Himalayan people through the incredible work of the Himalayan Trust. These bright sparks share a conversation on how walking in the footsteps of Sir Ed has influenced and shaped their lives, leadership, and high performance.

Jeremy Mayall (Sound Art Composer/Performer and CEO of Creative Waikato), Kelly Peterson (Theatre Actress), and Morgan Haakma (World Champion Wakeboarder).

All proceeds go to the Himalayan Trust - the charity established by Sir Ed himself. The Himalayan Trust is an international non-profit humanitarian organisation, that aims to improve the health, education and general well-being of people living in the Solukhumbu District of Nepal.

Under COVID Alert Level 1, planning for this event will continue for Sunday, 28 March, as normal.

Should alert levels change, or remain at Level 2, the event will still take place in a revised format on the same date as advertised. Should alert levels rise above Level 2, we will deliver this event entirely online.

In an effort to keep our communities safe, we would like to provide the option to attend the event virtually, for those that wish to. There will be a live stream link provided to all ticket holders, regardless of restrictions on events taking place.

We are glad to have you join us for an enlightening afternoon. We look forward to seeing you (in person or online) on Sunday, 28 March. Bring your best self and prepare to level up!
