Event description
Upcycle old clothes & turn them into Pet Beds!

About this event

Want to reduce waste & make pet beds for animal rescue shelters? Come along to this event run by Mari Swindley from Eco Educate, at the Education Centre in the Resource Recovery Park on Range Street.

Mari will show you how to make cosy 'hug' beds from old jumpers which are just the thing to comfort a lonesome animal. Materials & instruction will be provided - all you need to do is register and show up!

This event is 1 of 5 during Mental Health Awareness Week (starting September 27) that Keep Learning Mid Canterbury is organising. Each day there is an event focusing on one of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. GIVE is this event's focus. You will GIVE your time and the pet bed you make to the SPCA. You'll feel good for giving and those rescue animals will feel good too, thanks to you!

Note: Mid CanterburyTimebankers who attend can earn time credits for giving their time to support the SPCA in this way.

Organiser Keep Learning Mid Canterbury

Organiser of Pet Beds for Rescue Animals

Keep Learning Mid Canterbury provides opportunities for Adult Community Education and is run by Connecting Mid Canterbury Charitable Trust. Each school term we put out a programme of approximately 10 learning events, open to the whole community. Volunteers & professionals share their skills and passions with others who come along - some events are free while others have a fee. Sometimes Mid Canterbury TimeBank members can pay in time credits and other community members pay with money.

Follow the Keep Learning Mid Canterbury Facebook Page to see what other events we have organised.
