Presented by: School of Music

UC School of Music in association with The Cavell Leitch International Jazz & Blues Festival presents Poltroon encounters Stinging Nettles.

‘Hosted by School of Music staff member and local saxophonist, Reuben Derrick, this energetic and edgy concert is a one-night-only, don’t miss event! Wellington’s Stinging Nettles and Christchurch’s Poltroon will collide to create music in both deliberate and spontaneous ways, using conventional and extended playing techniques. This unforgettable performance will conspire to traverse the raucous and the silent, combining mega melody with gritty rhythm and textures rich and expressive.

Dan Beban – guitar, (Wgtn)

Tom Callwood – bass (Wgtn)

Joseph McCallum – drums (Chch)

Reuben Derrick – clarinet and saxophone (Chch)
