Laura is a qualified Women's Health Physiotherapist with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy and Post-Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. She holds specialised qualifications in Women's and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy and Pre- and Post-Natal Pilates, and is a member of Physiotherapy New Zealand.
After becoming a mother herself, Laura recognised the significant gap in support for women's pelvic and musculoskeletal health. Laura works at Active Health Waikato and is passionate about supporting women through pregnancy and postnatal recovery with tailored exercise plans. Based in Hamilton with her family, she combines clinical expertise with real-world experience as a mother, empowering women to feel confident, informed, and strong in their bodies through every life stage. You can book appointments with Laura at Active Health Waikato.
Meet Brooke, who will lead the exercise class:
Brooke Shepherd-Wright is the founder of BRSW Pre & Postnatal Fitness and holds a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science with a Postgraduate Certificate in Sport and Exercise Science. As a mother herself, Brooke recognised the need for specialised pre and postnatal fitness training in Hamilton.
Her mission is to support and empower women throughout pregnancy and postnatal recovery, focusing on safe training that strengthens the pelvic floor and abdominals from the inside out. Brooke's classes are thoughtfully designed to address the specific needs of mothers, helping them build strength while fostering a positive relationship with their bodies.
Working closely with local women's health physiotherapists, Brooke ensures her training programmes are optimised for each woman's unique needs.
