About this event
This class is for both beginners and for experienced printmakers who want to work independently on projects, with individual guidance from the teacher. Printmaking techniques are taught when a project requires it, and will be taught to individuals or groups, as required. In this class there is much value in the learning that occurs within the group dynamic and the communal workshop environment.
Please bring all your own supplies,It is advisable to bring an art kit with you including the usual suspects: pens (including black sharpie and fine line pens over 1mm - useful for drawing) pencils, a craft knife, scissors, glue stick along with any printmaking tools you like to use frequently. Paper for trials - Bockingford Pads in cartridge and watercolour (for intaglio) weight are useful.
Health and Safety Gear: Apron, gloves (thin disposable ones are useful for inking up and ordinary kitchen sink gloves are useful for cleaning surfaces/screens etc), closed in shoes.
Imagery/ideas – maybe you have a visual diary, a concept or some photos on your phone (for example). It is advisable to have a starting point or some idea of what you might want to explore beforehand because class time goes quickly.

Art Supplies Southland https://artsuppliessouthland.co.nz/ ,Office Max for white/trans and black oil-based inks. The Print Lab has a supply of other oil-based colours you are welcome to use) CCG Industries (Screenprint inks in large quantities – smaller quantities can be purchased through school or you can substitute screen print ink for acrylic paint which you add a screen-printing paste/ acrylic screen printing medium which retards the drying of acrylic paint on the screen and reduces the risk of screen blocking). However we do stock and on sell Fabriano and Tiepolo heavy weight print papers. Bring petty cash for photocopying costs.

Refund Information:
Please note, you may be issued a full (except for Eventbrite fees) automatic refund up to 7 days before your event starts by requesting a refund through Eventbrite. Refund requests after this date can be made by contacting the anca@op.ac.nz email address. These will be accepted on a case-by-case basis when exceptional circumstances are present. No refund requests will be accepted after the start date of the class.
