Event description

Description

Privacy is the new black. Well maybe not quite but changes in legislation and customer expectations mean that it has never been more important for businesses to get privacy right. Respect for ad protection of personal information is not a value-added service, it is a core expectation customers have when they engage with an organisation.

Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) are key to an organisation being able to proactively manage privacy risk. However, they are much more than templates that need to be completed prior to project go live. Doing a PIA in the right way, at the right time is essential to achieving project outcomes while minimising the risk of breaches that can have a huge impact on customer trust and confidence.

In this education workshop, our team of experts will walk you through the assessment process, including:
• Why privacy impact assessments are required
• Privacy risk basics
• Where to start and when
• How Privacy Impact Assessments fit within the project lifecycle
• Information you need to gather
• Common risk areas and pitfalls
• How to assess the risks you identify
• How to document identified risks and recommendations in a way that is accessible for decision makers
• How to complete the assessment reports

This workshop is designed for people who are likely to be involved in the assessment process, including Privacy and Security professionals, Business Analysts, Project Managers and Policy Analysts. It will be practically focused, and you will end the day with a better understanding of how to effectively undertake these assessments within your organisation.
