Prolam have created some exciting new products recently with their PLX Portal and Column bracing systems, providing a healthy alternative to structural steel, by reducing thermal bridging. These products could be a game changer for designers, engineers and builders looking to build better buildings for people and planet. https://www.prolamnz.com/

Potius Building Systems have been instrumental in the design and testing of these new products. https://www.potius.co.nz/

However, sometimes steel is unavoidable and that is where Thermal Innovation comes in to the calculation. https://www.thermalinnovation.co.nz/

The format of the event will be as follows

1. Introduction

2. Andy van Houtte from Potius Panels and Robyn Ryan from Thermal Innovation will set the scene by demonstrating why steel within the thermal envelope is a problem and what can be done about it. Robyn will then talk about the thermal bridging requirements of the Passive House Standard.

3. Prolam will present on their new products including the PLX Portal and Column bracing systems, with demonstrations of these.

4. Andy to discuss the testing, testing facilities and product development required.

5. Robyn will discuss her products; how they work, why they works and where they are needed.

6 Question and Answer time.

7. Nibbles and NetworkingDon’t forget to collect your free drink as you go past the main bar into the Lounge Bar!

This event is aimed at Designers, Engineers and Builders, who are looking for new and innovative ways to build better buildings.

Of course, everyone is welcome to come along and improve their knowledge of a subject that is not well known or understood in business as usual building practices
